Job Summary:
The part-time Work-Based Learning Coordinator will work with the Director of Workforce and Community Programs and the Work-Based Learning Program Manager to support new and continuing work-based learning initiatives and programs. This is a 9-month position, not to exceed 28 hours per week.

  • Work with the Dean of Business, Technology and Workforce Partnerships and Director of Workforce and Community Programs to investigate, identify, and develop apprenticeship opportunities and relationships with various south Denver area metro businesses. Participate in economic development groups and organizations to develop new work-based learning opportunities. Develop and expand existing organization and agency partnerships to foster expansion of work-based learning opportunities.
  • Serve as the secondary project manager for work-based learning programs. Review curriculum and update as necessary to meet industry standards. Serve as a central point person for ACC regarding work-based learning opportunities such as apprenticeships and degree-specific internships. Collaborate with the Colorado Department of Labor’s Work Based Learning team. Recruit, hire, and evaluate instructors to provide best outcomes and competencies for customers. Increase enrollment, expand, and monitor existing work-based learning programs to meet targeted goals. Provide timely resolutions to issues and concerns from vendors, instructors, students, and other customers internal and external.
  • Coordinate and conduct focused academic advising and student support services to help students persist in their work-based learning program of study. Provide services which include student advisement, academic progress review (traditional, online, and hybrid), and development and coordination of retention efforts for new and continuing students. Gather statistical information and develop strategies to retain students.
  • Lead projects to create and implement a WCP work-based learning process flow, CPI plan, and College systems integration plan each academic year. Coordinate and partner with various College departments to create a seamless experience for students involved in work-based learning programs. Monitor the progress of activities related to the annual work-based learning process flow, CPI plan, and College systems integration. Develop, foster, and expand relationships with appropriate internal and external individuals and organizations in order to provide high quality work-based learning programs and services.
  • Manage Colorado First and Existing Industry (CF/EI) training grants from initial consultation through grant closeouts. Meet with clients to assess training needs for grant submission to CCCS and Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT). Create proposals for CF/EI training programs, including curriculum information, cost and budget, and timeline. Establish processes and workflow documents to ensure effective day-to-day management and state reporting of CF/EI programs. Act as a liaison between any vendor/third party provider and the clients/students in the program to establish high standards of training
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, training and development, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years business outreach, marketing and sales experience
  • Project management experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience writing and presenting written and oral proposals
  • Excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial and creative initiative
  • Experience in higher education, training or organizational development preferred
  • Experience using Banner and related modules to support student success
Advertised Salary Range:
Pay rate for this position is $28.00 per hour. This is a 9-month, part-time, FLSA non-exempt temporary position. Not to exceed 28 hours per week.
