Castle Rock Chamber announces 2018 Best of the Best Nominees for Annual Banquet/Awards Ceremony on April 21st

Every year, the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce recognizes business owners, citizens and volunteers who represent the best that Douglas County has to offer.  View pdf of nominees

The Chamber has announced the nominations for this year’s Businessperson, Small Business, Citizen and Volunteer and Ambassador of the Year awards. The winners will be revealed, along with the 2018-19 Board of Directors, at the Chamber’s awards banquet on Saturday, April 21st at Denver Marriott South at Park Meadows.

  • TODD FOLKENBERG, Castle Rock Adventist Health Campus
The Businessperson of the Year Award recognizes business owners and/or management who have competitively positioned their business in the marketplace; demonstrating strong financial performance in their industry; has successfully managed the growth of their company; has utilized innovative or creative business methods in response to times of adversity and has a strong commitment to the betterment of the Castle Rock Community. This award recognizes businesses with 21 or more employees.

  • JR PINON, Olinger Dignity Memorial
Small Business of the Year Award recognizes a business owner who has made outstanding contributions to the community through their involvement in community projects, organizational affiliations, and business growth. This award recognizes businesses with less than 20 employees.

  • GRANDMASTER HAN LEE, Han Lee’s Taekwondo Academy                     
  • MIKE MCNAIRY, Creative Colors International
The Citizen of the Year Award is given to a selfless individual based on their many years of volunteer activity within the community.  This person demonstrates a dedication and loyalty to the Castle Rock area with commitment to service.

The Ping Lee Jung Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes a Chamber of Commerce member who has given freely of their time and talent in leadership to further the mission of the Chamber.

Ambassador of the Year Award—recognizes an individual who is a volunteer business member who goes above and beyond the required committee engagement in Chamber activities, assists Chamber members to receive value with the Chamber’s programs and events and has a passion for the betterment of our community. 
New in 2018, the Chamber's Community Champions Awards was created to honor the first responders in our community that serve and protect us.  The following individuals represent the men and women in their departments that inspire others through their selflessness, extraordinary service and contributions that positively affect the lives of those around them.  This year the chamber would like to recognize the following organizations:

  • SHERIFF TONY SPURLOCK, Douglas County Sheriff            
  • CHIEF ART MORALES, Castle Rock Fire     
  • CHIEF JACK CAULEY, Castle Rock Police
This greatly anticipated Banquet & Awards Ceremony is one of the Chamber's most exciting events of the year. It’s our way of celebrating and highlighting the many accomplishments and contributions of our members and community partners that have played a key role in furthering the mission and vision of the Chamber and Douglas County community.
