Description
Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce invites you to attend our Women of Influence luncheon.
ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:
Diane M. Simard is an executive-level publicist and psycho-oncology influencer focused on expanding access to mental health resources for those impacted by the psychological trauma of cancer. A survivor of late-Stage III breast cancer, she is also Executive Vice President and on the Board of Directors at Bye Aerospace, which is developing the eFlyer family of electric airplanes at Centennial Airport.
Recognized as one of the 100 inaugural “National Women in Business to Watch” by BizWomen.com, Diane was also named one of 2021’s Top 25 Most Powerful Colorado Women in Business. Learn more at www.DianeMSimard.com.
Soon after completing 10 months of challenging breast cancer treatment in 2015, Diane founded the Center for Oncology Psychology Excellence (COPE) at the University of Denver, the first specialty in the country to offer psycho-oncology training at the graduate level. She has since helped launch a mental health therapy pilot grant program through the Ray of Hope Colorado Cancer Foundation and serves as a Patient Advisor for Blue Note Therapeutics, a prescription-based digital therapeutics company.
Diane wrote a five-star memoir, The Unlikely Gift of Breast Cancer, an inspiring story of self-discovery about her frustration over the lack of individualized mental health support that led to COPE. The Unlikely Gift was named one of the “Best Breast Cancer Books of All Time” by Book Authority and placed third in the memoir category of the Colorado Independent Publishers Association book awards, an international competition. Diane’s COPE story is featured in Courageous Warriors: Beauty from the Ashes, a multi award-winning independent documentary film.
Diane will share how her business acumen helped her overcome breast cancer, why she ended up in the electric aviation industry, and what strategies help her sustain a hectic work-life balance.
