Business Services Planner

The Business Services Planner connects library staff and business community stakeholders with accurate current and actionable information so that they can make informed decisions that will increase the success of their endeavors, by assisting in providing premium, personalized research and training to businesspeople through DCL business services. This position also represents Douglas County Libraries (DCL) in the community through outreach including but not limited to presentations, networking events and supporting local businesses and organizations. This role works as an effective member of the Community Engagement team and on cross-departmental teams in collaboration with other professional staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 40% Customer Service Consults with customers to decipher needs, provide training on business resources and follow up to solicit feedback. Creates custom business information packages for business services’ clients internal and external. Instructs and trains business clients on general business resources available at DCL. Establishes and maintains DCL business services’ relationships. Collaborates with Customer Experience team to provide expert knowledge and services inside and outside library locations. Communicates effectively with staff and teams, providing both partnership and leadership with programs. 40% Outreach Represents DCL in the community as an expert and advocate for Business Services. Participates at business events hosted by community organizations such as chambers, economic development councils and business development associations. Presents to and supports business organizations. Distributes resources to business services’ community groups. Assists with strategizing and identifying new outreach opportunities and community partnerships.

Requirements Experience and Qualifications: Required Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in a business related field Three or more years’ professional experience Fluency in MS Office, and other industry related software. Preferred A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or related field Experience performing business reference and research; creating custom information packages; training patrons on using library resources, presenting information (library and general) to groups; outreach to business owners and business support organizations A combination of experience and education will be considered. Physical Requirements: Must have a reliable method of transportation between all DCL locations. Must have the physical ability, stamina, mobility and manual dexterity to support a seven-day-per-week week operation. Work at computer stations for extended periods. Participate in meetings and events at various locations and at varied times throughout the day. Ability to read as small as 8pt font. Salary Description $2,099.12 - $2,623.88 bi-weekly
